Class of 2020 Attending Their Dream Schools

A Bridge For Kids is celebrating a record class of 54 seniors who, like many of us, have battled through a very tough last few months. Sadly, many if not most, will not experience a graduation that allows them to personally walk to the stage and receive that coveted high school diploma. Billy Nguyen Wins 8th Annual Essay Contest

Billy Nguyen, a senior at Lincoln High School, beat over 200 other contestants on his way to winning the 8th Annual A Bridge for Kids Essay Contest. This is the second time in 3 years that a senior from Lincoln has won the $2,500 first prize. In 2018, Kevin Banks bested a similar number of entries in winning the top prize. This year, students were asked to address something they had done in their life that they were the most proud of. Angelina Gonzalez Shatters Record in Winning Week #3 of The Quarantine Games

A Bridge for Kids Launches Scholarship Program

A Bridge for Kids is proud to announce that it is launching a new Scholarship Program that will recognize and support seniors who have excelled in academics, athletics and/or the arts during their high school years.  A Bridge For Kids is offering up to $5,000 in college scholarships and these scholarships will be granted to low income, high achieving seniors who are committed to attending a four year college. A Bridge for Kids Lends Hand to Promising Teens

Since its inception in 2012, A Bridge for Kids has now awarded over 250 sponsorships to low income, high achieving students across San Diego. The original business plan was to identify promising low-income teens and connect them with a sponsor who would donate $1,000-$2,000 to assist these teens to purchase such basic educational needs as a laptop and printer so the teen could do homework at home.
