Full Ride, Full Potential
Gael, now wrapping up his first year at Swarthmore College, achieved a remarkable milestone when he earned a full ride to attend the prestigious institution. His accomplishment reflects not only academic excellence but also his dedication to community service, passion for robotics, and drive for continuous growth.
Raised in a close-knit family of five, with an older sister and younger brother, Gael’s home life played a crucial role in shaping his grounded character. Despite the demands of school and extracurriculars, he always made time for family—an anchor that supported him through every challenge.
Gael’s journey into robotics began during his freshman year of high school. Rising through the ranks to become Media Officer, he was also one of the few students selected to participate in the ABFK/ServiceNow internship. The experience taught him how empowering it was to apply math and science in a collaborative environment. For Gael, the iterative mindset of engineering became a philosophy for life: “The only way to consistently move forward is to sometimes take a step back.”
As Co-President of the Interact Club, Gael found purpose in giving back to his community while strengthening friendships. His service work, paired with a stellar academic record that earned him the AP Scholar with Distinction Award and 2025 Class Valedictorian, opened the door to new opportunities through programs like QuestBridge and Discover Swarthmore.
Gael’s journey continues today at on a full ride at Swarthmore, where he carries forward the lessons, values, and resilience that shaped him. His story is one of curiosity, discipline, and a constant pursuit of self-improvement.
