A Record-Breaking 2025: Turning Potential Into Possibility
As 2025 comes to a close, A Bridge for Kids is reflecting on a year defined by growth, momentum, and meaningful impact. What began as an ambitious set of goals became one of the most transformative years in the organization’s history, reinforcing a belief that has guided the work from the beginning: when opportunity is paired with support, lives change.
This past year, A Bridge for Kids supported more students than ever before, reaching milestones that once felt aspirational. The organization has now doubled the size of its program in just three years without adding staff or increasing overhead, proving that a focused, efficient model can scale without sacrificing quality. For the eighth consecutive year, 100 percent of graduating seniors are attending college, a rare achievement that continues to distinguish the program.
The Class of 2025 also stood out for its academic success. Nearly a quarter of graduating students were accepted into Top 20 universities, an outcome that rivals some of the most well-resourced schools in the country. Yet for A Bridge for Kids, success has never been defined by statistics alone. It is measured by confidence built, barriers removed, and opportunities that expand what students believe is possible for their futures.
A Bridge for Kids believes that students’ success and personal growth extend far beyond the classroom. While academic support remains foundational, the organization also recognizes the importance of exploration, connection, and exposure to experiences many students would not otherwise have access to because of their economic circumstances.
Through the Health and Wellness Program, students are encouraged to get outside, stay active, and experience new environments while building confidence and perspective. This year, students participated in overnight trips to Catalina Island and Big Bear, where they hiked, explored, and even went snowshoeing, often for the first time. These experiences pushed students outside their comfort zones in the best possible way, introducing them to activities, settings, and challenges that broadened their sense of what is possible.
What has become increasingly clear is that the impact of these trips goes beyond physical activity or time away. The camaraderie, friendships, and informal networking that develop during shared experiences have proven to be just as meaningful. Students build trust with one another, form lasting bonds with mentors, and gain a sense of belonging that carries forward long after the trip ends.
Building on those shared experiences, A Bridge for Kids is launching its first annual Senior Retreat this March during spring break. The inaugural retreat will bring the Class of 2026 to Zion National Park for three days of hiking, exploration, bonding, and networking. Designed as both a capstone experience and a launching point, the retreat will give students dedicated time to reflect on their journeys, strengthen relationships, and begin envisioning what comes next as they prepare for college and beyond.
Together, these academic outcomes and shared experiences reflect the broader momentum behind A Bridge for Kids’ work. In 2025, the organization reached a major milestone by sponsoring its one thousandth student. Each sponsorship represents more than financial support. It reflects belief, partnership, and a shared commitment to a young person’s future.
As A Bridge for Kids looks ahead to the new year, the momentum from 2025 provides a strong foundation. Plans are already underway to expand programs, deepen partnerships, and create even more opportunities for students to thrive academically, personally, and professionally.
If you are looking for a meaningful way to get involved, this is the moment. Whether as a mentor, sponsor, volunteer, or advocate, your support can open doors for a student who simply needs the opportunity to match their potential.
