ABFK Students and Alumni Share Messages of Gratitude

A Bridge for Kids wants to recognize our amazing community of supporters for all that you do to help us make a positive impact in the lives of our teens. Below are a few personal messages of gratitude from ABFK teens and alumni.

"A Bridge for Kids has provided me with so much more than "just" money...it gave me a mentor that cares and helps me. It has given me the confidence that everything is possible. And of course, it is helping me financially to get a step closer to college. I am thankful for all of the opportunities A Bridge for Kids is giving me."

Dylan Lally, Escondido Charter High School, 2021

"I am very thankful for the opportunities that A Bridge For Kids provides. A Bridge for Kids has provided me with money to purchase a new lacrosse shaft. Because of this opportunity, I am able to practice lacrosse to my maximum potential."

~Thinh Vo, The Preuss School, 2020

"I am very thankful to A Bridge For Kids for [giving me] the confidence to go above and beyond in life. With this newfound confidence, I was able to create a mentoring/tutoring program called Triton Alliance for middle school students who are struggling in their academics and mental health. As the president of Triton Alliance, I can gladly say that several lives have been changed for the greater good with the help of A Bridge for Kids."

Alex Vo, The Preuss School 2020

"I am thankful for all that A Bridge for Kids has done for me. In addition to providing financial support, with which I’ve been able to do things like get a license at 16, buy dance and school supplies, and receive test prep, it has linked me to a wonderful mentor who has supported and encouraged me throughout high school."

Michelle Fox, Hilltop High School, 2020

"I am thankful for A Bridge For Kids and Mr. Nance because I was given the chance to be a part of something great - a community of future leaders that are passionate and determined to make a difference in the world. Being awarded this scholarship gave me the confidence to believe in myself and work hard for my dreams. Even throughout college, I felt supported and loved by this foundation and am happy to be a part of it."

Brianna Diaz, Castle Park High School 2015, UCLA 2019

"A Bridge for Kids has provided me with a lot of financial support, but I am most thankful for the relationship that I have developed with my sponsor. I am in the middle of the college application process, and my sponsor has made it easier through her kind and motivational words. Learning about her experience in college helped me narrow down my options and find what I really wanted to study."

Emely Rodriguez, The Preuss School, 2020

"A Bridge for Kids provides me with hope. Having someone sponsor me more than three years ago provided me with the hope of knowing that someone believed in me."
