Ania Saucedo, from Gompers, Wins the 12th Annual Essay Contest

Ania Saucedo, a senior at Gompers Prep, emerged victorious among 250 other participants in the 12th Annual A Bridge for Kids Essay Contest, securing the coveted $2,500 first prize. We congratulate Ania on her outstanding achievement!

This year's essay prompt was, “What have you done in your life that you are most proud of, and how has this accomplishment impacted your life or the life of someone else?” A panel of 30 judges evaluated the entries based on criteria such as creativity, originality, clarity, and overall impact.

Elyna Lav, a sophomore at Crawford High School, secured the second spot with an impressive submission, earning her a $1,500 prize. Valerie Colin (Preuss) came in third receiving $750. Alexia Maria (Helix) and Bao Banh (Preuss) secured fourth and fifth place, respectively, each receiving $500.

Addison Lyda-Savich, a Sophomore at Scripps Ranch High School, secured the sixth spot, followed by Garcia (El Cajon Valley High School) and Hido Yusuf (Crawford High School), in seventh and eighth place, respectively. Cameron Yoo (Sophomore) and Angeline Muralles (Junior), students from Mt Carmel High School and Escondido Charter, earned the ninth and tenth spots, receiving $250 each.

We extend our heartiest congratulations to all the winners, past and present, and thank the judges for their invaluable contribution to making this event a resounding success. We also express our gratitude to our generous donors, without whom this contest would not have been possible. As we eagerly anticipate the 13th Annual Essay Contest, we applaud all participants for their excellent submissions and look forward to seeing more exceptional entries.
