Annual East Coast College Tour Has Students' Sights on Success
School may still be out for many of our students, but summertime at A Bridge for Kids means college tour season is in session! We are excited to announce that a group of six students recently returned from a whirlwind five-day East Coast College Tour that gave them time to explore a variety of prestigious institutions including Princeton, NYU, UPenn, Harvard, Yale, Brown and MIT. Throughout the tour, I was taken by surprise by pretty much everything that came into sight: the passionate tour guide, the beautiful campus and the simple, yet powerful idea that passion drives everything.
This campus might be the best layout and atmosphere so far. Although more busy than Brown, they had so many resources open to students; it was quite astounding. I appreciated that their students are cared for and the professors are dedicated to their work at the college.
My favorite part of the day was getting to experience the performing arts of NYC as well as experiencing the city itself.
Going into the entire trip, the one university that I was looking forward to the most was Princeton. It was the one university which I researched on the most and also the one with the highest expectations for the overall tour. And sure enough, the college did not let me down. I love the balance of the old and partly Gothic architectures and the absurd amount of green. No words can describe the chapel. The tour guide easily made my day. And overall the tour only solidified the truth that Princeton is my top choice.
When I first walked on the campus I did not think it would be my main choice but after the tour and seeing it all, it was a great campus, similar to Brown and NYU put together because it felt like a small community but also has a city in its backyard. I loved hearing about the traveling opportunities and the ability to take classes in all the colleges.
