Barry Estates Hosts Pickleball Tournament to Support A Bridge for Kids!

Last Saturday was gorgeous, with temperatures in the mid-60s and a slight breeze. It was a typical February day in San Diego and perfect conditions for a Pickleball Fundraiser! Hosted by Beth Davidson and Chris Martin from Barry Estates - Luxury Coast Group at The Santaluz Club, over 30 pickleball enthusiasts of all ages lined up ready to have some fun and raise money for A Bridge for Kids. The tournament itself was played out over 9 rounds and left many that were new to the sport surprisingly exhausted.

For those who may not know, pickleball is a fun and easy-to-learn game that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It is typically played on a badminton-sized court with a net similar to a tennis net, but slightly lower. Players use solid paddles to hit a perforated plastic ball over the net. The rules are simple and the game is great for players of all ages and skill levels.

After several hours of intense pickleball competition, which even Roger Federer would have been proud of, winners were crowned and bragging rights were established. A 5 Night trip to Mexico was then raffled off to one lucky winner and we then handed out some well-earned medals. Whether you were new to the sport or a long-time fan, everyone had an amazing time, and all for a great cause.

We are truly grateful to everyone who came out to make this tournament possible. Your support and enthusiasm made this event the success it was, and we couldn't have done it without you. Thank you, Beth and Barry Estates, for your time and effort, and for helping us raise close to $3,000 for students in need! We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
