UCLA, UC Berkeley and Stanford Favorites on Campus Crawl

Funded by a generous donation from a local La Jolla family, A Bridge for Kids hosted its 2nd Annual West Coast Campus Crawl last week. This years trip allowed 11 low-income students to visit college campuses including UCLA, USC, Pitzer, Pomona, Stanford and UC Berkeley.   The timing of the trip couldn’t have been any better as many of the seniors on the trip had just received acceptance letters from schools they were visiting and several were deciding where they would attend school in the fall as they were walking across the respective campuses. For many of these students this will be their only opportunity to visit a University outside of San Diego. At A Bridge for Kids our mission is to build a bridge between young teens who are in need of educational and financial assistance and those people that can provide these resources. In doing so we aim to level the playing field for at risk youth in our community. Financial sponsorship, SAT prep, tutoring and our campus tour programs all help provide a “hand up” to those kids that want to do more with their lives but lack the financial means necessary to do so.
