Celebrating the Holiday with the San Diego Gulls

A Bridge for Kids celebrated the holidays with the San Diego Gulls again this year. On December 18th, over 150 students, alumni, sponsors and other supporters gathered at Pechanga Arena for a night of fun, giving, and some local hockey as well.

The Holidays are a very special time when we are able to get together, give gifts, and share stories. This year we did all of that and more! The Gulls were in the spirit of giving and allowed one of our students to ride the Zamboni, and for 8 kids to tour the penalty box and go on the ice before the game! In addition, The San Diego Gulls Foundation recognized ABFK for it's decade of supporting "at-risk" teens here in San Diego and presented alumni, Brianna Diaz, and Founder, Michael Nance, with a check for $1,000 to help further our mission in the upcoming year.

This is quickly becoming one of our favorite events because it brings together our ABFK family and allows our sponsors to spend some time with their students. The holidays are a time for giving, and that was seen that night when one very generous student won the Zamboni raffle. He knew it would make another students day if they could ride the Zamboni instead, so he gave his Zamboni ride to his friend. These random acts of kindness are some of the most beautiful things, and we are so blessed to have all of our amazing, caring, and generous students as a part of our A Bridge For Kids Family.

A fun time was had by all and we would like to thank The San Diego Gulls for their hospitality, The La Jolla Country Day School for providing presents to ALL of our students through their Giving Tree gift giving program, Tim Parker, from PC Werkz, who donated a "one of a kind" PC to one of our lucky teens, and everyone else who helped make this special night possible.

We would like to wish everyone a Happy Holidays, and an even happier New Year!
