In-Kind Donations Guide

Help us make our Gala a record-breaking success without spending a dime! Your support in gathering in-kind donations is invaluable. Here's a simple guide to help you reach out to your favorite businesses and ask them to contribute to our cause.

Step 1: Identify Potential Donors

Consider the businesses you frequent - restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, salons, gyms, etc. These places often look for opportunities to give back to the community and can benefit from the exposure our event offers.

Step 2: Craft Your Message

When approaching a business, be clear about what you’re asking for and how their contribution will benefit both our cause and their business. Use the following template as a starting point:

Subject: Request for In-Kind Donation for A Bridge for Kids Gala

Dear [Business Owner/Manager’s Name],

I hope this message finds you well. My name is [Your Name], and I am a frequent and enthusiastic patron of [Business Name]. I am reaching out today on behalf of A Bridge for Kids, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting high-achieving, low-income teens in San Diego.

We are excited to announce our annual DreamMaker’s Gala, which will take place on October 26th at the Hyatt in La Jolla. This event is crucial in raising funds to provide these talented students with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.

Given my positive experiences at [Business Name], I thought of you as a perfect fit for contributing to our cause. We are seeking in-kind donations, and your support could make a significant impact. Your donation could take the form of an experience, gift card, product, discount code, or anything you believe would add value to our event.

In return, A Bridge for Kids will prominently feature your brand at our Gala, introducing you to some of the most influential and philanthropic individuals in San Diego. Your generosity will not only support a worthy cause but also enhance your visibility within our community.

Thank you for considering this request. I am more than happy to discuss further details or provide any additional information you may need.

Best regards,

[Your Name]

Step 3: Follow Up

After sending your initial request, follow up with a visit or a phone call if you don’t receive a response within a week. Be polite and respectful, and reiterate how their contribution can make a significant impact.

Step 4: Acknowledge and Thank Donors

Once you secure a donation, ensure you send a thank-you note and acknowledge their support in our event materials. This not only shows appreciation but also strengthens the relationship for future collaboration.

By reaching out to your favorite spots and asking them to contribute to our cause, we can make our Gala an unforgettable event. In return, these generous companies will gain valuable exposure and showcase their commitment to supporting the community!

Thank you for your dedication and support! Together, we can make a difference.

Feel free to adjust this guide to fit your personal style and the specific businesses you’re contacting. Every contribution counts and brings us one step closer to a successful Gala!

Step 5: Notify us with the good news!
