Led by a passionate group of supporters who donate their time, talents and money, our organization’s goal is to impact the life of as many of San Diego’s high achieving, low income youth as possible. First, we identify those young teens who have demonstrated strong academic, athletic, or artistic talents and, in desiring to grow these talents, have shown that they would benefit greatly from financial support. We receive nominations from schools, churches and individuals within the community, like you. Additionally, teens must meet economic criteria confirming them as low income, by, in most cases, qualifying for the government free and reduced lunch program.
We then interview each child to ensure there is a good fit with our sponsorship program. Next, we attempt to match each child in need with a sponsor that is willing to help. In addition to providing financial support, sponsors act as mentors for the teen, providing the teen with a resource who can offer support, encouragement, and advice as the teen navigates his/her journey through high school and into college. Once a teen is sponsored, funds are placed in account with A Bridge For Kids, and we work with the child to ensure the maximum benefit is realized.
If you know a teen that could benefit from our programs please let us know. You can call us directly at 858-812-3150 or fill out the form on the link below and either fax or mail it to us. All the information is on the form and it only takes a few minutes to fill it out.

“The biggest impact this sponsorship had on me was not the great amount of money that I received, but it was the hope. I was about to give up, because I did not believe that someone like me could go far. A Bridge for Kids was my hope, my light in a dark tunnel.”
