My name is Bezalel Aboye and I am a ninth grader at the Preuss School UCSD. The Preuss School offers mentoring and tutoring available for all students. The funds provided by the sponsors will help me organize my school materials. Having a small place where I can quietly do my homework will strongly affect my study habits. The mentors that A Bridge For Kids provides are very supportive. I really need encouragement and guidance during the remaining years at Preuss. Getting support from an adult that has been through similar struggles helps a lot. I play the sport squash through Access Youth Academy. Last year, the boys and girls played at the National Tournament. Unfortunately, this year the traveling expenses were too high. I want to become a professional squash player and give back to the community with that skill. I believe that this organization will help me succeed in life.
With the sponsorship funds, I can accomplish many of my goals. Receiving help from a sponsor will help my family. My father, a taxi driver, is the only person in my house that has a job. My mother cares for my sister and me by providing shelter and food for us. My main goal is to help my parents live a good life after all the sacrifices they’ve made. The sport squash has motivated me to do better in school. Sponsorship funds can help pay tournament fees. The sponsor will also help cover the travel expenses for the tournament. The more tournaments I play, the higher my ranking gets on US Squash. I will perform better with a mentor supporting me while I play the matches. Another important issue the funds will solve is the gear. Excellent squash gear costs a lot of money. The support given by A Bridge For Kids will change my life.
