Hello, my name is Noah. I am seventeen years old and I am a Junior at Patrick Henry High School. I live with my mom, dad, younger sister, and roommate. My dad owns his own window washing business, where he alone washes highrises and such in Coronado. My mom is a pharmacist assistant at Kaiser Permanente, someone who orders medicine for all the departments in her building and delivers it. When the pharmacy is short on workers my mom assists the patients by giving them their prescription medicine and helps them with any other concerns. As for me, I am a third degree black belt in Tang Soo Do Martial Arts. I have been training for fourteen years and I teach classes throughout the week. Another sport I play is badminton, as my friends have introduced it to me and I find it very fun. When people ask me “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I say that I want to be an Engineer, more specifically a Computer Hardware Engineer. Immediately I aim for a well paying job so that I can support my family so that we can pay off debts much quicker.

I am set on graduating from Henry and attending San Diego State University as it is less expensive than most universities and it is local, so I won’t have to deal with out-of-state fees or even moving into a dorm. I plan on getting a summer job to finance my family and support them in any way I can. As for aspiring to be a Computer Hardware Engineer, electronics fascinate me, computers being the most impressive to me. Video games being one of my other hobbies, I have always had a passion for computers. Being able to develop circuit boards and test out computer systems is my ideal job. Becoming a Computer Hardware Engineer would give me the satisfaction of someone who will shape our technological future and play a part in how we are advancing as a civilization.

This sponsorship would give me both the funds to pursue my dream job so that I can help my family, as well as helping me plan out what my future is to look like. I would be able to purchase new notebooks and pencils rather than having to reuse my previous years’ materials. I could afford a laptop, a portable device that I can work on school related subjects and a new desk to replace my dented and outdated makeshift desk.

This sponsorship also benefits me academically as it dishes out many educational opportunities such as tours to colleges that befit my interests. I would be able to talk to someone about advancements in my career, school, getting a job, and more. As much as there is an educational aspect to this, I would also be able to convey my feelings to my mentor. Being able to receive emotional support would greatly boost my morale and drive me to strive for the future I wish to attain.
