At just 14 years old, Janelle is already proving herself as a dedicated student, athlete, and leader. A freshman at Mar Vista High School and a proud member of the graduating class of 2028, she balances academics, sports, and community service with an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Softball is more than just a game for Janelle, it’s a passion that has shaped her mindset and character. Since picking up the sport at 12, she has grown into a versatile player, excelling at third base, catcher, shortstop, and center field. However, shortstop is where she truly thrives, drawn to the position’s leadership role and the responsibility it carries on the field. Through the guidance of her coaches, she has learned to give 110% effort, maintain confidence in the face of challenges, and develop both mental and physical toughness. Janelle’s ambitions reach beyond high school. With a 3.5+ GPA and a goal of maintaining a 4.0, she is determined to keep her academic record as impressive as her athletic performance. Her dream is to attend Texas State University, where she hopes to continue playing softball while earning a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). She sees nursing as both a rewarding and challenging career path—one that aligns with her desire to lead, expand her scientific knowledge, and make a meaningful impact. Looking even further ahead, Janelle envisions serving as a Naval nurse, a role that would not only allow her to help others but also provide financial stability, education assistance, and veteran benefits for her and her family.
