Yubitza

Background

I come from City Heights. A small neighborhood with a lot of potential. I live in a small apartment, and it can get very crammed at times. My parents are both very hard-working people. My mom makes sure we are okay at home, and my dad works 5 days a week from 8:00 am to 10:30 pm. Money can be tight sometimes, but my parents always compromise and try to pay off all their debts.

Skills

I’m very good at staying on task when it comes to schoolwork and I have pretty good grades. I also play sports. I play soccer and volleyball. I started volleyball last year as a school sport, meaning that I play it for fun at school. There’s no volleyball or soccer team for middle school in my school. I have played soccer since I was 4 years old, so I am pretty passionate about it.

Knowledge

I would say I know a lot about my grade level. Like I mentioned, I have pretty good or decent grades. I try to always keep an A- or higher because I have always said that I am a perfectionist and that’s always my challenge to myself. I am pretty persistent with my work and just try to be on top of everything. If I don’t understand something, I have learned that asking for help is okay when I need it. I don’t really like being dependent on someone when it comes to work, but like I said, if I need help, it’s okay to ask.

Essential Goals for My Future

My future goals are pretty straightforward. I want to attend Harvard or UCSD once I graduate from high school. I want to become a gynecologist. I know that it is going to take many years to achieve but I will do anything to achieve my dream and be what I want to be. I have many plans for my future, and I hope I can achieve them.
