We have been incredibly busy over the last two months conducting approximately 100 interviews at a number of San Diego schools and have continued to meet incredibly poised, talented, and inspirational teens who have dreams of creating a successful future for themselves. On February 28, we had the honor to award four students at The Preuss School, UCSD $1,000 sponsorships each from A Bridge for Kids. We are proud to congratulate and welcome, Andy Ly, Steven Doan, Tony Chau and Sam Martin to our A Bridge For Kids family. Over the past year A Bridge for Kids has provided financial sponsorships to 20 teenagers from The Preuss School, totaling over $25,000 in support. A Bridge for Kids is proud to continue its partnership with this nationally ranked transformative school, its faculty and the future leaders it is developing.
Interviews have also been conducted recently with students from Castle Park High School, Sweetwater High School, Eastlake High School, Chula Vista High School and Crawford High School. While it is our wish to be able to offer sponsorships to each teen, the number of students we have met has unfortunately outnumbered the number of sponsors we currently have. So the very difficult process of choosing which of these many deserving teens will be matched with a sponsor constantly challenges us.
For a window into the lives of these teens who struggle daily with adversity in their lives yet continue to work hard at school, enhance special athletic or artistic talents, and keep their home lives together, see some of their stories by clicking onto this link, We have many teens waiting for a sponsor who can help them get ahead in life. If you are so moved, please sponsor a teen today!
