ServiceNow Partnership Gives “Hand Up” to Low-income Students

A Bridge for Kids is excited to announce that ServiceNow, a Santa Clara based software company, has generously agreed to sponsor 10 of our students.  In addition to a $1,000 sponsorship, each teen will be given a free laptop and will take part in a 10-week coding seminar hosted by Service Now engineers.  Also, as a part of the program, students will have a dedicated ServiceNow Engineer who will act as a mentor to provide guidance and help with their final project.

Michael Nance, Founder and CEO of A Bridge for Kids, said excitement for this opportunity was like nothing he had seen before.  “This is such a blessing for our students, but it has been a busy last few weeks for all of our volunteers.  We received 100+ applications and interviewed each candidate throughout the month of April.  The process was time intensive, but the most difficult part was narrowing the group down to a final 10.  That was nearly impossible!  We had so many deserving students who wanted the sponsorship but only a limited number of seats available for the coding class.”

Mr. Nance went on to say, “We are very fortunate to have an incredible group of passionate supporters.  Over the past decade this generosity has allowed us to help many deserving low-income students here in San Diego achieve their dreams.  It is always fun to award sponsorships but with the addition of everything ServiceNow was providing, the excitement level reached a new high for this group.  I am really proud of these kids and can’t wait to follow their progress over the next few months.”

Congratulations to all of our winners!

Helping young people in need... succeed!

Testimonial

"Simply put, the work done by ABFK has opened countless doors for me and has provided me with an extremely supportive community that above all else wants to see students succeed. Through my sponsorship, I have been able to participate in varsity athletics, pursue my passion for music and poetry, and most importantly, has made me more confident in myself and my ability to succeed in any area I set my mind to."
