A Bridge for Kids Hits the Road: West Coast College Tour 2025 Recap
This spring, A Bridge for Kids hit the road for our annual West Coast College Tour! Over the course of several days, we traveled from sunny Southern California all the way up to the Bay Area, visiting six amazing campuses: UCI, UCLA, USC, UCSB, Stanford, and UC Berkeley.
We loaded up our 12-passenger Ford Transit, cranked up the music, and set off on an epic journey (After about 5 hours of Grateful Dead, students were allowed to play their own music on the radio). Along the way, we drove nearly 500 miles getting to and from, walked a whopping 25 miles touring campuses, and sampled some of the best local eats (with a memorable dinner in LA’s Koreatown topping the list!). We also made time for plenty of fun, including a night of bowling, swimming at each of our hotel pools, and plenty of car karaoke sessions.
A special highlight of the trip was reconnecting with ABFK alumni! Huge thanks to Brianna (UCLA), Ania (Stanford), and Ava (UC Berkeley) for giving us insider tours and sharing what life is really like at their universities. It was inspiring for our current students to see former ABFK scholars thriving at some of the top schools in the nation.
For some students, this trip marked their very first time on an airplane, and what better way to cap off the adventure than with a flight home after an incredible week of exploring California and all of its top colleges? One senior, who had been accepted into USC, UCLA, and UC Berkeley, even shared that the tour helped him confidently make his final college decision.
We couldn't be prouder of our students and can't wait to see where their journeys take them next! As always, we look forward to next year!
