Taking Applications For Summer 2014 SAT Preparatory Program

A Bridge for Kids is leveling the playing field with it's new SAT Preparatory Program.  Fill out an application and sign up today! The Facts: It’s a well know fact that those that are fortunate enough to attend a four year university do much better financially over their lifetime, approximately $1m in lifetime income, than those that have just a high school diploma.  College graduates are also employed more readily, are less likely to switch jobs and in general are happier at their place of employment. The Problem: As we also know, for better or for worse, SAT scores play a significant role in whether a student gets accepted into the school of their choice and can also have a significant bearing on the level of financial aid granted.  With strong SAT scores a must to attend that “dream university” more and more families are spending $1,000+ to attend a class taught by the top preparatory administrators.   For a low-income family this could be more than a month’s income, all but shutting them and their kids out of this important step in the preparative process. The Solution:  A Bridge for Kids will offer our qualifying low-income students a chance to take a multi week SAT prep class this summer.  Our goal is to provide all of our teens, who are not offered this opportunity at their existing school, to compete on a more even playing field with their peers.  Our long-term target is to close most if not the entire 300-400 point gap that exists today between the top and bottom income earners. How to Apply:  We are currently taking applications for our Summer 2014 program which will be offered to rising seniors.  To apply, please go to abridgeforkids.org and click on the Nominate a Teen tab to print out an application.  If you have additional questions about our SAT Prep Pilot Program please email questions to Randi Shanken at rshanken@abridgeforkids.org.
