Here's What They Said: The Power of Mentorship

At A Bridge for Kids, many students receive more than financial support. Through their sponsorship, they are matched with caring mentors who offer guidance, encouragement, and consistent support throughout high school. These relationships have become one of the most meaningful parts of the program.

“The most helpful part was having a wonderful sponsor that was always there to help.”
Cielo, SDSU

“The most helpful part of my sponsorship was being able to connect with my sponsor and consult her advice!”
Katherine, UCSD

“I was able to connect with my sponsor and create a bond with her. I was also able to buy the necessities needed for school.”
Jenny, UCLA

“Having my sponsor as a mentor and helping me with my high school and college career (She is a lawyer and I am pursuing law) along with being able to have money for the resources I needed for school. If I didn't get this sponsorship I don't think I could’ve performed as well and efficiently in my high school years.”
Chloe, UC Riverside

“The most helpful part of my ABFK Sponsorship was the support I received from my mentor and the scholarship. Communicating with my mentor throughout my high school years helped me map out my plans, goals, and ambitions.”
Vian, Stanford

“The most helpful part of my A Bridge for Kids Sponsorship was the support I received from my mentor, Randi, Alex, and everyone from the team. They created a safe and supportive environment where we could accomplish our goals.”
Klarissa, UCSD

Having someone who listens, believes in you, and guides you can make all the difference. For many students, mentorship turned out to be one of the most transformative parts of their high school journey.
