Lina Vo, from The Preuss School, Wins the 11th Annual Essay Contest

Lina Vo, a senior at The Preuss School, emerged victorious among 200 other participants in the 11th Annual A Bridge for Kids Essay Contest, securing the coveted $2,500 first prize. We congratulate Lina on her outstanding achievement!

This year's essay prompt was, “The lessons we take from the obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?” The entries were evaluated by a panel of 30 judges based on criteria such as creativity, originality, clarity, and overall impact.

Trang Truong, a senior at Patrick Henry High School, secured the second spot with an impressive submission. Trang had finished fourth in the previous year's competition, and we are thrilled to see their continued success, earning them a $1,500 prize. Katrina Sadoudi, Thu Le, and Kimmy Dang, students from Helix High School and Crawford High School, secured third through fifth place, respectively, with each receiving a $500 Amazon gift card.

Haslet Moloro, a junior at Patrick Henry High School, secured the sixth spot, followed by A Bridge for Kids students Lynna Thai and Uyenthi Le from Crawford High School, in seventh and eighth place, respectively. Lia Le and Ismerai Barragan, students from The Preuss School, earned the ninth and tenth spots, receiving a $100 gift card each.

We extend our heartiest congratulations to all the winners, past and present, and thank the judges for their invaluable contribution to making this event a resounding success. We also express our gratitude to our generous donors, without whom this contest would not have been possible.
