The sound of my parents' exhaustion after work always reminds me of why I study. As a 10th grader at The Preuss School, I use their struggles to motivate me to keep moving forward. I am fascinated with biology and the human body, and I hope to someday help people stay healthy while also supporting my family.

When my parents came to the U.S. seeking a better life, they had little money and faced racism. Despite these challenges, they pushed forward and built a family. My dad worked multiple jobs so my mom could take care of us. To this day, both of them work hard to give me what I need. From them, I learned that survival requires determination and effort.

Seeing their sacrifices taught me that hard work is the path to growth. Watching them return from exhausting jobs with no energy left motivates me to push myself in school. I studied English more fluently, practiced math, and developed a strong interest in science. I also learned from my older siblings, who became role models for me.

The path I desire to take isn’t easy, though. I want to succeed in science, especially in medicine. I believe that I can take this path If I keep it up. The process might be hard,

but it’s worth it when I see how my parents work. If I keep my GPA and grades up, this is the path I will take

Because of this, I decided to start taking any classes that can improve me in this topic. Classes such as Biology & Chemistry have been slowly feeding me information. With this, I can start to strive towards that future. Along my path towards this, I also pick up any struggling peers and give them guidance on what they need help on.

These experiences inspired me to help people who are struggling. I want to give others the support and opportunities my parents gave me. Their discipline and perseverance showed me how to overcome obstacles, and I carry that lesson with me.

With your support, I will turn my parents' struggles into success. I will use it not just for myself, but to help others. I know I must work as hard as ever to reach my goals, and I am ready for that challenge. Thank you for considering me for this opportunity.
