Haben
I’m a 14 year old student at the Preuss School UCSD. I was born and raised in San Diego, as the youngest person in my family of four. My parents, immigrants from a country from East Africa called Eritrea, came to the States because they wanted a better life for us and to give us the famed “American Dream”.
I grew up wanting to be a lawyer, but I later gave up on that because I saw how a lot of lawyer work is not really helping the world. Now I want to work in the medical field like a Nurse because I want to help people in need, and those who are disabled and sick. Sometimes in my free time I would watch medical videos on YouTube, because of how interesting his videos are and how interesting the videos are.
I would like to go to UCSD to achieve this goal, because UCSD is one the best Medical Schools in California. Another reason why I want to go to UCSD is because of their various sports and programs. One of those sports I want to try out is their soccer because I am really into the game.
Being accepted into A Bridge For Kids would be fantastic. With the scholarship money, I would buy school supplies, soccer gear, a gym pass, and a laptop. I would like to buy a gym pass because I want to stay in shape, and stay healthy. A laptop would be great because it would help me do homework on time, and school work. Soccer is something I am passionate about and I love playing the game, and having money to buy soccer gear would be wonderful.
Other programs in A Bridge For Kids could be fun and I can learn from them like tours of universities or colleges., and tutoring. Doing college tours could help me find the best and right college to go to. Tutoring can be a big thing because sometimes I
would need help on my assignments, and I need someone to support and help me to find the right answer.
