Tuan
My name is Tuan. I am a Freshman in Herbert Hoover High School. I am a first generation immigrant in America. I first came to the U.S. late 2012 from Saigon, Vietnam. I live with my two low income parents and I have four siblings, but I do not live with all my siblings.
My current GPA is a 4.0 and I am in many extra curriculars. I am in Price Scholars, USD Upward Bound program, Key Club, Asian & Pacific Islander Club, & I am also in my school's Badminton team. I am planning to join more programs, but I mainly hope to be able to join this scholarship program, so I can increase my chances of having a better education and future. Some of my achievements are that I was invited to a program that only was given to the top 50 ranked students in my middle school. I was also ranked one of the highest if not highest student in academics for both elementary and middle school.
During the 2022-2023 school year I was nominated as the council president for the whole school. I want to go to college after I finish highschool. Specifically UCLA or Stanford if possible and after my 4 years of university I want to get into medical school, so l can study hard and become a neurosurgeon. Later on I want to start my own business and become a successful business owner to hopefully open a pharmacy or a hospital with my business as well.
If someone described me I would be described as someone who is naturally talented, but even if I am talented I am a person who is hard working and is determined to go above and beyond to reach their goals. They also could say that even if I am a person with a strong drive to be the best I wouldn't mind helping others especially if they need someone understanding and reliable. Even though I have my strengths I also have weaknesses that I am improving on as well. I want to join this sponsorship, because the money I receive will help me in my education. I want to put the money into new school supplies, sports, or hobbies.
Anything I can buy that will result in me improving my own body and mind. Small things such as new pencils or a new backpack to larger purchases, mainly an Ipad, so that I can easily take notes for school, study, and other educational purposes that will help me do things more efficiently. I also want to focus on my physical health too. So I would like to buy a new badminton racket, so that I can improve my skills and hopefully train hard enough that I can help bring my team to regionals or win the annual district Rookie Tournament.
Since the money can help me buy things that will help me improve my education it can also increase my chances of being able to achieve things like going to my dream school on a full scholarship. Since I have supplies that I earned through this program that if I wasn't accepted into this program neither me nor my family could have afforded it, because of our financial circumstances. With those few reasons that's why I want to join A Bridge For Kids.
